2015
Gained an interest in Graphic design
Picking up Graphic design as a class in my final year of high school, I quickly found an interest for designing and creating image in digital media, for potentially practical applications.
2016
Entered Art School
After finishing high school, I started at the Ilam School of Fine Art at the University of Canterbury. First Year students try 5 studio subjects (Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Film, & Graphic Design) then refine choices for their major.
2017
Began my Graphic Design Major & Breakthrough Job
Come 2017, I began my major in graphic design. At this point, I also began doing pro-bono works. It was during this time that I was approached to do my first breakthrough commission for the Gymsports in Canterbury Charitable Trust in conjunction with Gymnastics NZ.
When they asked if I would accept the primary design position for the 2017 NZ Trampolining and Tumbling National Championships held at Pioneer Stadium.
The completion of this job marked the start of my freelance Graphic Design career and commitment to creating impactful designs for events and businesses.
2019
Graduated BFA in Graphic Design
In 2019, I graduated my Fine Arts degree, majoring in Graphic Design.
Continuing growing connections in community and gaining reputation with design projects. I had established strong relationships with local community groups.
My passion for collaboration led to numerous successful projects that enriched the local organizations and their projects.
2022
Graduated BA in Japanese & Art History
Continuing to expand my knowledge base & interests to inspire work & direction. Continuing to expand my portfolio, showcasing and working with a diverse range of styles. Reflecting my continuous growth as an artist and designer.
2023
Official branding as Daniel Price Art & Design
Fully establishing the Daniel Price Art & Design brand and joining the BNI Avenues chapter to establish more networks and professional relationships. While having been designing and expanding my portfolio throughout this period since 2017, an official freelance brand was missing, as I was previously also occupied with study at university.
