Project Overview:

Daniel Price Art & Design was approached by the couple to create the service booklets for their wedding ceremony.

Design Challenge:

Graphics and material needed to be designed that was evocative of the personalities & interests of the couple. Design had to be pleasant and appealing to primarily the couple but also to attendees. The full liturgy was being used in this booklet, so the formatting had to keep things verbatim, but also be formatted concisely to keep the page count as low as possible.

Creative Solution:

The couple were fond of literature, so the idea of having the graphics play like a story book and follow as a story would became the direction to take. The bride had done a woodland painting  in a style that was a favourite of hers, which became the background, visual direction and 'setting' of their visual story. The couple each had names that harkened to animals (a Fox and Lark), so using these as motif to tell a visual story added a bonus to the utilitarian aspect of the booklet. An added bespoke detail, which provides a small 'easter egg' to the service booklet was that the animals represented became two foxes from the pages that they were pronounced husband and wife.

Project Results:

The couple were thrilled with the result, and attendees enjoyed the result of the service booklet. Many were kept as mementos.
