Project Description: BNI Avenues Lads' Lunch Tee

Project Overview:

As part of the BNI Avenues chapter, Daniel Price Art & Design worked alongside some of the fellow members to create a T-Shirt  that is worn when the chapter members attend their monthly Lads' Lunch. This was a project unofficial to the BNI brand.

Design Challenge:

Creating a stylish Tee that alluded to BNI & would inspire interest and generate conversations between members and the general public. The design had to be bold, interesting and a bit fun / whimsical. The design had to appeal to a diverse group, to be something that all would be comfortable and proud to wear. A particular request of adding a graphic to the back to act as a conversation prompt, such as, "ask us about ---", was made as well.

Creative Solution:

Member feedback and transparency was crucial for this project, each step of the process was widely distributed to all members at the time to get their opinions on the designs as they developed. An overall design that related to beer tap roundels, and with a slightly distressed aesthetic to give a rustic 'rubber stamp' look gave a visual direction that was broad enough to appeal to most. Bold text for impact and to provide visual hooks were combined with graphics to supplement the social nature of the get-togethers and to provide breaks in heavy blocks of colour.

Project Results:

The design was enthusiastically received by members of BNI Avenues, and the Tees are still popular among existing and new members. The group can be seen wearing the shirts en-masse at the monthly events. The Tees were produced by Scuffd.co.nz.
