Project Description: St. Christopher's Church Book Fair Posters (2021-Present)

Client: St. Christopher's Anglican Church

Project Overview:

A repeating project each year since 2021. The brief is to format a suite to advertise the book fairs for each year. There are 3 held per year, and the suite consists of posters in portrait, landscape & square thumbnail orientations to be used across a variety of platforms and web platforms, including social media. The design needs to be adaptable enough to have different colorways to represent each of the different fairs during the year but also clearly communicate the important details of each event.

Design Challenge:

Each design had to be clearly legible and present key information, while also being not only different from the other months in the year - but also different in design from previous years. While also maintaining an element consistent visual identity for the year. The files had to be adapted for presentation up to A1 size (in the landscape) for a roadside advertisement, and for A-Size posters and flyer drops, along with advertising on screens, social media, and the organization's website.

Creative Solution:

Different overall designs have been developed from year to year using relevant imagery and motif. The designs consistently have a significant colour block element - to not only provide a backing to present the necessary text on, but also to be an adaptable feature that changes between each of the individual book fairs. Designs are designed in 3 different formats: in a square format, landscape format (at A1) and in an A3 portrait format - which can be scaled down for A4 & A5 posters/flyers. These have critical layout elements carried between the versions to maintain a consistent visual identity and create uniformity in the multitude of variety.

Project Results:

The project still maintains presently since 2021, and new designs are always required. The events ending pulling a fair amount of interest - and these designs are a consistent presence at St. Christopher's. A repeat project that turns a good result each time.
