Project Description: Rotorua Baptist Church Youth Programme Hoodies

Project Overview:

Daniel Price Art & Design was approached to design new hoodie graphics, that were going to be made into apparel for the Rotorua Baptist Church Youth to wear at Easter Camp 2025

Design Challenge:

The client had already selected a base hoodie to use - a charcoal black / grey. The brief was to create a vector graphic that could easily be transferred to a hoodie, as well as being representative of their messages, values and area of operation. There were unique limitations in terms of colour involved which had to be considered.

Creative Solution:

Approaching the task as a monotone project, the design was made entirely in white - in order to adhere to the unique constraints on colours that were involved. Three options were drafted up for consideration and the Youth group decided on their favourite. The final design incorporated the use of water that is central to the Rotorua area as well as in multiple instances within Christianity, along with graphic elements from the youth group logo and Christian faith.

Project Results:

The design was approved after the only request being to add the word 'Rotorua' also. The group chose their favourite design with little contest and no edits to the graphics. The hoodies were made for the group and are worn with pride by the youth and their leaders.
